Val2, I've done that job in England. It was bad enough there, so you have my sympathies.

Anton, you have to go through a mad rigmarole if you can't identify the house and its occupant. The only benefit for Val2 is that she isn't likely to have many multiple occupancies, or high rise flats). .[:D]

Now, they are a killer, and the phone cable is no help at all for any type of dwelling.

Oh so that's how you meet the stars!  Very glam I must say[:-))]

    It's funny though, Tresco.

I grew up in a house in the UK with a septic tank, and can't remember my mother ever paying it any special attention. Ditto my sister and brother both live in houses with septic tanks and don't worry about anything that goes down them. In fact I don't think they are even sure where their tanks *are*; they inherited them with their houses.

So are French "fosses septiques" more sensitive than British ones?

Maybe it's the French diet that makes a difference.  We had our fosse drained 2 summers ago and it's not something i'd like to experience in the near future[+o(].

My daughter thought it was fascinating and even pulled up her mini deck-chair to watch the proceedings!

  3. By the way Phil was the first one I met on my first day at work so I was quite gobsmacked as it was a very "passing by in the building" moment,  he was nice & ordinary really.

Then the next day I was washing my hands in the ladies and Yoko stepped out of the loo and said "Herro" and by the end of the week I was rather blasé

  4. Aahh! So relieved to hear that!  I met my Anglo Saxon ones while working at TV-AM in the late 80's, so I could also add Gordon Honeycomb, Anne Diamond, Russel whatshisface ,Timmy thingybob (kids TV) Ulrika-ka-ka Johnson etc...and all the ones currently on Sky News 'cos' that's where they ran when the live breakfast  programme lost its 'appeal'.  I ran to France with a rock band and the rest is history...[:-))] Love the new smiley!!
  5. Right, here goes,

    Phil Collins (short)

Joan Collins (witch with a 'B')

    Yoko Ono (short)

    Robert Plant (wow)

    The Moody Blues (Zzzz..)

    Jon Bon Jovi (short)

And many, many French artists who you don't know or don't care about, all these and the above through my work.  Hey Tresco, how did you meet your stars, I have this creepy image of you hanging out behind concert venues with your autographbook!  Please don't let it be that - I used to be Soooo in awe of you...[8-|]

  6. "I'm a relative newcomer to the forum and have found the past couple of weeks really good fun.  Since the 'offending one' can no longer offend, the forum has brought me many an evening laughing and joking with some new found, I hope, friends."

    Hi there Dotty!

I hope i'm one of your friends!  Oh and by the way Dick so glad you're chilling out in France and not stuck in Britain due to strikes.  [:)]

I like the new 'mad' smiley [:-))]
