  1. Our current local caretaker is retiring and we are searching for a local near Le Bugue/Paunat who is reliable, speaks English and French, and willing to source locals when needed to carry out maintenance. While the caretaking would be ongoing, the majority of work would be preparing the cottage for holiday guests (only about six per annum), freshing up the cottage, mowing the lawns(weeds!), washing the bedlinen and cleaning bathroom/kitchen and living areas.    Acting as a liaison between France and Australia, this person would live near Paunat and hold the key to the cottage. Please email if interested with further details.
  2. Hello,  after returning to Australia recently (from UK and France), I have begun importing beautiful pieces (homeware) from France, and am now trying to source beautiful Xmas decorations and wondered if anyone knows of local designers/artisans or ateliers who I could contact.  I currently represent Christophe Pichon and more ceramics from Limoges...but would be very keen to source more beautiful xmas decs. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hello, I'm hoping someone might be able to assist with our small challenge.  We currently live in Australia and our local caretaker has retired.  We are now searching for another who will care, provide maintenance (or arrange) for our cottage in south-west france, near Le Bugue.  It would include cleaning and preparing for holiday guests (max 4 only), washing sheets and arranging gardening and property maintenance. I will also try local estate agents, and I'm also trying to recall there used to be a granny network who might point me in the right direction. I thank you all in advance from Sunny Melbourne.
  4. Hello from Australia. Our fabulous local caretaker for our cottage in a village near Le Bugue is retiring and I am trying to find a contact or someone who could take over from April - I know very soon! I would also be interested in making my research via a friend of a friend, so if you know of anyone who might know of someone looking for long term work, then I would be very grateful. As you can imaging, living in Austrlia makes it impractical to visit frequently. Many thanks Penny
  5. Thank you Debra and also Will for your valuable response. I will of course look at past threads and hopefully we can free up some cash to make it work harder for us. Otherwise, visiting once or twice a year may be too much of a luxury. Cheers.
  6. Hi everyone, I need some advice on buying another rental property in Italy or The Lot. We currently own a cottage in the Dordogne outright and would like to borrow via equity.  Any experience and names of  banks, etc would be very appreciated, as we live in Australia. Cheers
