Could anyone tell me if there are any laws in France, with regard to cutting down large trees in your own garden?

Are your children going to attend school in Rochechouart as I understand it depends on each area wheather you approach the school direct or the mairie?

Hi, my daughter and I are planning on moving to France next June(2007) near to Rochechouart (87), whilst my husband works in England and comes home to us at weekends, as he does now here.

I want to start the wheels in motion for getting her into school.  Is there anyone in the area who can advice me on how to go about this.  My french is limited, so I am apprehensive about going to the mairie as I understand his English is limited too!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been in this situation....am I?
