  1. Did this journey on Good Friday, no problems.  Although the A28 stops just before Rouen, you follow the Le Havre signs around Rouen and pick up the A28 just the other side.  Brilliant road, not much traffic.  But beware, fill up before Rouen or at the petrol station just after, there is hardly a petrol station until Alencon, only the odd emergency pump at inflated prices.  If you need to spend a night there is an Etap just this side of Rouen. Don't try the Paris route, too frustrating and nowhere to stop for a pee if you hit a jam!
  2. Andy makes an interesting point about windscreens and their compatability.  We had the same problem with our Renault Kangoo.  The badge instructions are confusing.  If you have that black hatched area behind your mirror, that is where you put your badge, not on the clear part. To digress, the Kangoo is the best value wine transporter invented.

  3. Not whingeing!  Just wondering how commercially Eurostar can justify bragging about this great improvement to their service, when to many of their existing passengers they are making the journey slower by about an hour! The French have put their international terminal at Lille, from where you can connect to anywhere in France. I suppose that geographically that would not work here, and anyway we only spend public money in this country on roads - well a little public money! - and none on railways. Why could Eurostar not keep a presence at Waterloo, and in the process retain the goodwill of many of their existing clientele?
  4. Although good news for those living north of London, the move of Eurostar to St Pancras next year is a disaster for those living south.  Imagine trying to cross London in the morning rush hour with luggage by tube.  Eurostar suggest its not a problem as you can pick up the underground at Vauxhall (find a train that stops at Vauxhall) or pick up Eurostar at Ashford.  Perhaps I am being selfish as those living north have had these problems all along. Its probably too late to moan. It will drive us back to using the car!  Does any one have any ideas or know something that I do not?
