    Dear SaligoBay

I was (apparently) just as disillusioned with food as your son when I was much younger - I grew out of it, though it did take years and years. I was very thin but very healthy. Now I have the opposite problem - pounds creeping on as I get older and more sedate. (Memo: must try to be less sedate.)
My son used to look just like the kids in the Oxfam posters - just skin and bone - still does at 28 - but he is still very healthy.
So, please try not to worry.

  2. When my hard-drive appeared to die a helpful friend sorted the problem - a disconnected lead - but, in the process, he got rid of the 'stand by' option from the Start/Shut down menu. He said it caused problems with Windows 98SE. As 'stand by' was an option I had used a lot and not had problems with I would like it back but .... I have searched everywhere and cannot find a way to make this option reappear.

Can anyone offer any helpful advice?

    Hi there

Someone suggested a while ago using www.voila.fr and typing in 'agents immobiliers / dans .....' for whatever department/town you might be interested in. Seems to work. Beware the dreaded pop-ups tho!.
Also suggested was www.petites-annonces.fr which has lots of rental ideas.
Most French estate agents seem to do long-term rental - this is the route my husband and I are planning to go down when our house is sold in the UK.

    Hi Mark

If you do a search - using the magnifying glass at the top of the page - putting in 'E 106' you will come up with literally 100's of threads about the form.

  5. Egg is hoping to copy its success in the UK and has started offering current accounts, savings accounts, debit cards etc in France. What disappoints me is that Egg is also copying the French way of doing things re charges ie they are making an annual charge for debit cards.
I was hoping they would break new ground and not make these charges thereby throwing down the gauntlet to other French Banks to follow suit. Just call me overly optimistic!
