  1. Again i agree whenever and whatever you book through Ryanair you must use caution. but even as a gold club member at Hertz i still find it cheaper to book a car with Hertz using the Ryanair link rather than booking direct from the Hertz website!!
  2. Hi Polly, used the caxtonfx currency card which is reccomended by the money comparrison sites for use with Ryanair, aquired it on line, loaded free with sterling on line, costs £1.50p per transaction with no monthley or yearly fees.Apparantly it gives you free cash withdrawalls from auto banks within europe but for me i,ll use it solely for the half dozen or so flights we make with ryanair per year. Not sure if you need to be the lead passenger would be usefull if you didn,t obviously for friends and family
  3. Firstly thanks for your responses and support, although John appeared to want me arrested and heavily fined for my misdemeanor.Contacted ryanairs call centre on your advice was put through in under a minute, had the name changed, conformation sent out to me and wished a happy new year..........result OL long may you reign you,ce just won another fan
  4. Just booked flights for four people to Carcassonne for July, unfoutunately in my excitement of using my new pre-paid mastercard and saving £38.50 in booking fees i,ve miss-spelt a christian name on the booking form (margeret/margaret) My question is will this make any difference when i print my e-tickets, unsure what information the barcode contains.Hope it,ll be ok don,t fancy the wrath of OL.s booking centre and a chance of being heavily fined for a name change!!!
  5. Must admit last couple of cars i,ve had from Hertz at Carcassonne airport have been dirty and minus air-con, tend to stay with them for the 5% discount being a member of Club#1 and read somewhere after 10 rentals they offer you a free one!! Still struggle if i,m last off the plane and can,t manage the 100 metre dash over to the cabin like i used to.Still once youv,e got the keys thers always the game of "Hunt the Car" on that ever increasing car park.....Oh for a fast tracking system....
  6. We regulary travel to Carcassone with Ryanair, and as those who travel with Ryanair know they encourage the booking of car hire with Hertz through there own web site link, so why when i compare prices booking directly with Hertz they are so much cheaper!! Can,t fault Ryanair for giving us the oppurtunity to visit our second home so cheaply and regularly but why is it every time i book with them i feel another trap is being set !!!!                                      Steve
  7. Thanks for all the replies, must admit a bit of a mixed bag so theres only one way to find out we,ll take a trip out there next week although the longe range weather forcast doesn,t look promising                             Thanks again.....................Steve
  8. Were out at our holiday home in Arzens(11) which is near Carcassonne later this month and were wondering how accessable Andorra was? I,ve heard some horror stories about mountain passes and conjested roads so any advice on times, distances, routes etc or indeed the fact that its a duty free state would it make it a worthwhile day out? Also along the the same theme has anyone any advice on travelling to Barcelona either by road or train.                                  Thanks.........................Steve
  9. We,re staying at our holiday home in Arzens as the tour reaches Carcassonne next week has anyone any idea at what time the riders reach the city. I believe many roads are restricted in the city and would be gratefull on any advice to parking, vantage points etc.                                                                                     Steve

  11. Hi Rosanne,                How,s your French? We had an French electrician completly rewire our holday home in Arzens (nr Carcassonne) he was a little expensive but did a first class job and of course is fully quallified. The only problem we had was that he couldn,t speak a word of English so conversation was a little strained at times. 12. Hi Chris,           Not sure if this is what you,re after but found TRIDOME ( a bit like B&Q) in Carcassonne very good. The staff were helpfull, and the place user friendly for us Brits although i found the products a little expensive    Steve
