Tim,
In the previous thread some members say they have tried to contact LF direct, but believe the key personnel are away. This is a unfortunate state of affairs on such a popular site.
If Eleanor is not available perhaps somebody at LF could respond to this message and tell us all what is going on and how quickly the problem can be resolved.

Carrie,
I hope I am not confussed by your question.
But you mention that your friend would be prepared to pay for the operation. If this is the case then I doubt in the UK she would have to wait more than a few days for the procedure to be carried out privately.
As most private operations can now be arranged in the UK on a fixed pre-agreed fee basis regardless of the length of stay in hospital or any additional complications, what is the point of her having to endure the additional travelling between France and the UK on top of undergoing the operation?

Since my earlier response, there is certainly now a further log in problem. The way I have found round it, is to log in with your username and password but do not tick the box remember my log in name. Hopefully, this will be sorted out quickly once LF realise there is a problem.

Alan,
If you are concerned, why not just give your bank a call at least you will know where you stand.

Just put "Money Exchange" into search, there are masses of replies and suggestions.
Good luck with your French home.

Jon,
Firstly, never stop or lapse a policy before being accepted for a new policy. Not knowing the policy you have got,it is possible if it has a waiver of premium clause attached that this part may be excluded by leaving the UK. However, it would be very unusual if your whole of life policy would be made void by moving to France. Check first with the Assurance Company as hopefully you will not have a problem.

I do not see a problem, if you are entitled to the benefit why make excuses. Just give them your details and let the claim proceed.

Playing with the money markets is one of the fastest ways to get your fingers burnt. If one could forecast the future then a fortune is to be made.
The best advice I can suggest, if you are happy with the current pound rate which is not too bad and it meets your budget perimeters buy now, why take a chance and possible loose money, if alternatively a gain takes place so what. If you want to take gamble then consider reducing the risks by perhaps changing half the money now and waiting to see the trend for the rest.

It great to see a new member making their first posting, welcome. Although I cannot give you an answer to your question, I felt I should point you in the right direction to get responses. I do not know whether you are aware that you posed your question in the Finance forum when the Satellite TV, Internet forum would be more appropiate. I am sure on this occassion that the Technical Experts will see your question and you will get some responses. I can tell you that Digital will be certain of giving excellent reception and a vast selection of Radio stations.

This has been a problem for some time and although I have asked for it to rectified it has as yet not been fixed. I appears to happen in certain cases soon after the reply has been posted. Fortunately the fix is easy, just click on the printer friendly version and all responses will appear.

I have never suffered this problem because I never log out, therefore I am always logged in when returning to the site. I cannot see this causing you any security problems.

If you require a fast response, it is always best to first look in "Search" before posting a question. I hope this previous thread gives you your answer.
