What about when some b starts barbecuing burgers and sossidges and chick'n and all you've got is salad?Torcher. Absolute torcher. I blame Gordon Brown.

He's a very, very clever man, and comes from a 'political' background. He is well set for leadership one day, it may just not be yet.Don't fall into the trap of just denigrating politicians because they are politicians.

Atlas. Interesting discussion, I only just found it.

Allen keys expand to fit the space available to store them.Every power tool seems to come with at least one, and they last longer.IKEA chuck them in everything. Then there is the problem that you can't find the one you need, so you have to buy a complete set to get it...They can be used to make hand router cutters if you are so inclined, or 90 degree chisels.Steve - liked your posts on Bluebird. I still think they should have left it at the bottom of the lake...

Try Gavrimat in Vire, or Gedimat in Mortain.

How about Two Brains Milliband? (David, not Ed).

What was worse was that the metalwork teacher slippered me for carelessness before he sent me off for first aid. And before long I got the bill for the window. So, no, you don't do it twice!

There are far more than 2 parties/candidates in France but the winners here gain > 50%. And in occasional constituencies in UK too.

I once turned a lathe on with the chuck key still in.Hit me between the eyes and then bounced off through a window. It's amazing the momentum, isn't it?

Is there a reason for the Reply button being at the top of a post? Logically it should be at the bottom, which applies mostly to long posts, of course. Or possibly have a button at top and bottom, or even have the reply button below the posts as on other forum software. Any chance of modification?

Didn't spot that - too busy - thanks very much! Will be back in the UK by October, but plan to go to the Vire Franco-Britannique thing in September.

I think you deserve a bit of cake for that!Nice work, as usual.

Yes, but a couple of anecdotal cases is not a sensible basis for discussion. -

No mention of 'being elected'...................very clever.

AFAIK there has been no election since 1945 when the winning party achieved > 50% of the vote so there is a good reason for saying that no PM is legitimate.

If you think he is metally deficient, perhaps you should campaign for the return of David Steel.

There was an item on nut allergies on Woman's Hour yesterday - it may well be available from the BBC website on playback. The only thing I really remember (I was in my workshop) was that the reason children in some areas, such as North Africa, are less prone to nut allergies may be that they are included in their diet from a much younger age (as peanut butter, for example) and so they become acclimated. The programme, and other info, is here.

I thought there was a copy/paste thing going on as well? It hasn't always been very clear.Nonetheless, easier just to use Photobucket. No need to transfer all photos across, just the few he wants to post on forums.Making a meal of it in my opinion.
-
That wasn't the point. The OP was trying (I think) to link to photos that were on his hard drive.Photobucket is easier: it creates the link for you.

Just use Photobucket!!!!!

If you do a Google search you will find many online. Just the first:http://www.medisave.co.uk/blood-pressure-monitors-digital-blood-pressure-monitors-c-50_56.htmlhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Braun-BPM2510-Wrist-Pressure-Monitor/dp/B00008BFT1I've no idea how well they work, though.

Very nice work, Postie. It's good stuff, Cherry. The Jarra is pretty good, too. You brought railway sleepers from Botswana? Respect. My neighbour just chopped up a huge Cherry for firewood...

London (and to an extent Manchester) stand out as areas where there have traditionally been larger numbers of homicides than other areas.I've just been teaching a unit of work on Victorian london. We looked at the Statistical Return of Deaths for Wandsworth for 1871. In that year there were 56 murders (population 120,000), of which 11 were young people (5 below 1 year). Most victims were male, working class, below 40.For 2005-6 reporting year Wandsworth (population now 270,000) had 3 homicides of all types. So clearly in the long term London (or at least this part) has become a lot safer.Whether it was even safer in the past I can't tell, nor whether it has become more dangerous since 2006. But the panic is clearly media inspired.

Bill Gates was quoting C J Sykes, but relevant - plus ca change ...

ps how do you do French accents on this site?
[/quote]Gates never wrote or said this. If he had plagiarised Sykes' article I'm sure we would have heard about it...Read Snopes on the subject.Don't you think it's rather a bitter and unhelpful message?Accents - comme ça.
