  1. Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience in pressure washing concrete? As in, is it just a noemal mix that can be laid by hand, painted (although not sure why) and then pressure washed 12 hours later to give the finish, or am I missing somthing very important? And is there any reason why it cant be used as a finish for a swimming pool terrace?

    Cheers

  3. Hi

Thinking about putting an insert in my house, ive looked in some books and on the net but cant seem to find out if there is a legal limit on the length of flue between 2 fortyfive degree joints, does anybody know if there is one and how long it can be?

  4. Hi

The crepe on my house is litterally falling off in places, allowing water to get to the render uderneath (which is also cracked in places) and causing damp/humidity/condensation in some areas inside. My quetion is, is it better to take as much off as possible; allow some drying time and then paint with one of the hydrofuge silicon solutions that waterproof and stop ingress, or leave it untill I get the crepe redone sometime next year once Ive finished the other works?

    Cheers

  6. Doing this myself at the moment, it means, i think, they want a cross section of the house before and after with all the heihts of the house (floors, ceiling height, roof peak etc) shown.  I assume that they want the cross section to show where the work is happening.

    Hope this helps

  7. Who was it that said somthing about doing the crime you pay the time?

What he did despite being provoked was appaling, and he should not recieve any sympathy from the 'authorities' and have the proverbial book thrown at him, despite his ability and popular feeling. I would be syurprised if its the worst thing that has ever been said to someone on a sports pitch, and a man of his experience should be able to hold his temper especially in the world cup final that was more then likely going to go to penalties.

Having said that you have to respect the guy, if your going to go get sent off, get sent off with style!

  8. An absolute nightmare of a job, needs two people, one to use the blaster and one to fill it and clean up, be prepared to have sand throughout the house for a couple of months after, for the filler a sore back and if he/ sh is cleaning up at the same time as the blasting to have any exposed skin slightly sanded as well. If its a humid day it wont work properly because the sand gets clogged in the drum (although it could have been that the equipment  was too old and a little knackered) so has to be emptied and cleaned out properly. As I said, nightmare, hellish and expensive. On the up side, once it was done, and the ton of sant was out of the house the beams looked fantastic!

Alternative, get a 4" grinder with a brush disk on it and try, as noisy, makes a mess too, and gives the shoulders a decent work out, but way cheaper and can get the beams to look just as good.
