  1. I'll keep my ears open for a rider but we are too busy this year to train but will be watching the Wyre Forest riders from the West Midlands in the Duo this year.

If you need entry forms and you have the time , pop up to Marigny and get the entry forms from the bike shop just off the main square - you won't be too late yet otherwise I'm sure they have a website where you could get the forms.

    Hope this helps

  2. Wasn't it just the same in the UK about twenty odd years ago. Prices of country houses became unreachable for country workers like myself and strangley enough it wasn't because of thousands of French people coming over to live but it was blamed on ' townies ' at the time. People just have to accept it has become more popular to live in the countryside at the moment so naturaly prices go up
  3. Maybe as you've only recently moved there she hasn't yet had chance to ' mark ' her territory. The Toms may think its theirs?.It may be better if she only goes out with you there with her for a week or two to build confidence again . Our dog is very cat friendly but scares 'foreign' cats away maybe you could have such a dog ?
  4. Firstly congratulations !!!

The PMI will help you with your questions about the healthcare / which hospital - the birth / perhaps help you arrange to see everything at the hospital aswell . Ask them for a leaflet that explains their services.

I found I didn't see much of them until after the birth when they started to come to our house on a weekly basis to weigh baby , check he was OK etc and ask if you are OK aswell. After three or four of these visits I was more confident to say I would be OK and I found out where their surgery was so if I needed to ask anything I could go there . They have a mine of information and are very friendly

    bonne chance
  5. Hello Mandy & gang

Lovely to hear from you , I keep meaning to email you with photo of Izzy etc

It was good to see you the other week and the children had a nice time - I meant to say your home made cider was great I would be very proud if I had produced it, and I think you could make some money selling that if you wanted .Glad Jody has made the break and I hope things aren't too stressful for you commuting etc

Also funny you should mention rabbits as there seemed to be alot at Villedieu market today - mostly the red ones that they seem to eat around here

    love Cally

p.s perhaps you could start a plant / produce swap in your area when you finally get time

  6. Anybody interested in coming to a plant swap where you could turn up with your selection for swapping at a central location to all ? A bit like that on gardeners world but slightly smaller scale!

    Ideas could include

Individual or divided plants put into 4 inch pots/ bags

eg grasses / alpines etc etc

    Pond plants

Or even produce eggs / tomatoes etc

I'm thinking end of Sept early Oct for an hour one Sunday

If you're interested please PM me with your general area or nearest large town and in a week or so I'll let you know the numbers coming

By the way strictly no money to change hands

And encourage your French friends to come !
  7. >any info on readymix cement

look under Bton or Bton arm for local suppliers -we used Bton de France who were very efficient and helpful and they came with just a few days notice.
