  1. Going back to part of Shayman's original post ....

Has anyone had experience of the following companies in the Villedieu area (for buying the burner/insert and installation etc)?

    Gitem (Villedieu)

    Cheminee du Bocage (Coulouvray)

    Rene Brisach (Villedieu)

    Regards,

  2. I'm currently converting our attic space and putting in an additional bathroom.

Our plumber wanted to put in a 100-200l hot water tank to supply the shower etc.  I'd seen a Triton "chauffe eau electrique instantane" in BricoMarche (I think) which you can put under the sink (saving on space etc) and according to the brochure/phamplet, also supplied the shower and suggested this.  Mr Plumber not very keen on this idea, not least as it needs a 32A supply.

Has anyone had experience of these types of water heater?  Apart from the space saving, are they worth it and do they do the job?

The current hot water is at the other side of the house and not really practical bringing that through (holes in walls, bigger tank, etc).  Cold water no problem (obviously).

    Any comments appreciated.

    Regards,

  3. If you go right to the bottom of the page on the link mentioned above and click on "voir le plan", you'll see one of the main car parks right in the middle of the screen.

Just to the right of it is where the tourist office is.

If you then scroll the screen to the right there is a church.  Market is in this area...mainly on the streets before the church and above it, on the map.

Would get there earlier as parking can be a bit of a pain, but it is well worth it.

    Hopefully this make sense.

    Regards,

  4. We had hornets a couple of summers ago, living under the roof and sometimes coming into the house.  Bought a couple of the spray cans mentioned (about 15 euro at the time) and used these to blast the nest.  As some of the postings have hinted, not to be undertaken lightly and because the cans chuck their contents out with a fair degree of force (hence getting the 6 metre range), they don't last very long!!  I then sealed the entrance that they were using with some fine wire netting and so far, been lucky.  Did see them floating around the garden last summer a couple of times but nothing like when they were resident under the roof.

When I came back, found the following site which may be useful:
