If the pole wasn't damaged I say it's been pinched. Bolted ours to the barn wall, after the local cows used the postbox pole as a back scratching device.

I've found fault with all the western channel ferries at one time or the other. However the lack of competition/alternative routes can only be a bad thing long term, the costs are high now I can only see them increasing in the future and I bet P&O don't refund travel club members money ?
" after all you can still use our other splendid routes"
I've been using Dover Calais for a while now as there's always a deal to be had on that route with one operator or another, though it's a fair drive to the house in Brittany. I've already booked with Trans Manche on the Newhaven Dieppe route so will see how this pans out, the deal I got was cheaper than any on offer for Dover/Calais. May be hope yet?

Hi Martin,
We're in Plougonver (25km) you'll find plent of Brits in the area, but the french are fantastic, you'll soon have new friends.
Good luck.

We've a house in Plougonver about 10 miles west from you. The bar/restaurant The Moulin Blanc is a good place to meet other Brits especially in the summer. They've a play area for the kids and the food caters for all tatses. Always plenty of children around. there seem to be lots of British families in the area so I don't think finding friends for your children will be a problem.
Good luck with the move, maybe we'll see you in the summer.

Michelle,
Just picked a complete sat system up on E Bay for around £75, here is the link to the online shop
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/DCM-Direct-Digital-Viewing-Supplies
If you e-mail them I'm sure they'll do a food deal for you. Delivery was very quick and everything I asked for was delivered, they even gave me advice on the dish sizes for receiving free to air in France.
Good luck
Andy
