1.
Hi Folks.I have a very damp, always green area of grass,aprox100square metres.this is a pain as the grass grows at the speed of light, and always looks as though it needs cutting.
Before you think of planting anything make sure the the area is NOT a drainage site for the fosse or your land drains.

Willows and conifers are great for sucking up excess moisture but very bad news for drains which could block and cause damage!

  2. I make curries quite often at home and I use a mix of pre-prepared paste and my own ingredients including coconut (milk and creamed) but if it comes out a little hot! I just add a spoon of sugar and that seems to take the some of the heat out of it, but if OH wants his hotter I can just cool mine off a bit separately, works a treat [:)]
  3. Odile or Swissie what ever you call yourself!

'As CF is also dying a death of topics deleted, banned and members kicked out- the best of them will all be here soon.'

This statement is out of order!

We have not always seen eye to eye on some subjects, but there is room for more than one forum in this virtual world, and slagging one off to another just to try and gain friends is just childish, if you wish to go, then go with a little grace.

My daughter downloaded AVG for me (after deleting Norton) and I am so pleased [:)]
I have great admiration for you daughter as it's well known that getting rid of Norton completely is up there with King Canute stopping the tide coming in.......[:D]
It wasn't easy! after trying to do it by our own means (program/uninstall) and failed we went to the Symantec site and downloaded the 'Norton removal tool' it was gone for good , I hope[:-))]

  5.
Another very popular antivirus system is AVG Free.  Again it's free of charge.

I have been using the various versions of AVG Free now for around 7 problem-free years.
Just a little update: After a hiccup with BT/Norton last week which left me without security for a whole day!! I decided to change.

My daughter downloaded AVG for me (after deleting Norton) and I am so pleased [:)] my system is running faster, quieter, CPU's are now 0-5% on idle compared with 80-95% before (sometimes it would just start whizzing for no apparent reason) and I don't know is there. Brill

Thank you everyone for your advice

Edit: I also have saved £3+ per month [:D]

  6.
......anyway, I will put a link on this Ceaser Millan guy on Sky3 thanks, I have Sky+ so I can record.  What day is he on?
The program is called 'The dog whisperer' it is on nearly every night sometime two at a time around 7-8. I can only watch when we are in France because we dont have sky here only freeview, it is on freeview as well but our signal is very poor so I can't count on seeing it myself

    Good Luck

  7. You need to watch Ceaser Millan on Sky 3 in the evening. He is the most wonderful dog behaviourist I have ever seen.

Most dog problems arise from them not having a strong pack leader and enough exercise for their brain to become settled, his motto is : exercise, discipline, affection in that order.

We have found his advice very useful with our two small dogs (both girls), one was very dominant and the other quite shy and used to pee when she greeted people, we have totally changed both dogs and our treatment of them, they know their place within our household (which sound quite hard but it isn't) and that has made them much more enjoyable dogs

I think you've probably put your finger on it Jacqui, now what to do about it in short order is the problem [blink]
If this is to happen again you will have to have Mrs. Ernie register herself online, she will be issued with a new login details and a card reader and then be able to use her own card.

No good in the sort term though!!

  9.
Âme: It is a joint A/C with only one login.
I have a joint acc. with OH, but it is me who is reg to online banking, so it is my card that is asked for when I need to use the card reader, and I canot put in OH card!

And yes I agree with Baz the card readers are universal I have one each for Natwest and Nationwide and I can use either.
I'm quite a novice when it comes to my PC so not sure what I'd be looking for [:$]

I have Vista and do have 4 gadgets on the side bar but I only have a couple of added programs which is Microsoft office 2007 (with 10 programs in it) and Limewire [6] other than that its pretty much as I bought it 18 months ago.

  11. Thanks everyone

Not sure what to do now [8-)] I agree about Norton, I had it on my Dell PC before I had BT broadband with free security (which is a Norton product) but it made my Dell PC very slow at start-up and I'm sure was slow all the time now I look back, I have an HP PC now and it can be slow sometimes and sounds like it is churning over a lot, if I find it very slow I go into task manager and look at the performance and usually find the CPU are measuring between 90-100[:-))] yet I might not be doing very much! when it gets like that I do a restart and that mostly brings the CPU's right down to 5-15 so I never really know why it was slow in the first place.

I think for the time being I will stay with the BT security as I don't really have the time or inclination to faff around.

I think my daughter has some free security I think it may be one of the ones already mentioned I will do some fishing and find out what she thinks, I will mention to her what you have all said.

  12. Hi, I have BT broadband and when my daughter moved out 9 months ago I decided I did not need to be pay for their option 3 so I down graded to option 1, but with option 2/3 you get free online security (Norton) but with option 1 it can be an add-on for £3+ per month, so me being lazy decided to pay the extra so I didn't have the trouble of installing and paying for another.

Now my mother is having a new lap top (first ever computer[:-))]) and she needs to buy security, we have the chance now to buy: Symantec Norton 360 All-In-One Security Version 2.0. with use on up to 3 computers, now first is that a good buy at £26.90 ? and second would you replace my old BT online security and share her new one?

    Thanks for any advice
