1. Mint,
I ignored almost al the questions like that on the AV form .. no idea what to say and I'ven idea what I said to what it was for .. it accepted it .. so ignore what you don't know and if there is something it really needs and you have forgotten, like I forgot to tick whether it was a bank account or an AV, it stops you, so try it ... it needs a name, what type of account and a number, add etc .. but the add can be incomplete ' cos mine were!

  2. I had accidentally created more accounts than I needed and had to go back to the page where you can suprimer to correct it .. tedious.  Enjoy your birthday, Mint, OH's went well, but I have a busy 2 weeks medical-wise coming up, so now glad I persevered last week!

  3.  Mint,

I managed to find an old 3196 form about 2016, whch meant I could manage the opening dates, except for those I had forgotten and I managed to find the info in the accounts as they are newer (mainly savings ones).  Else I too would have to guess.  I suspect that as long as you put a date in it won't matter if it is actually quite correct!  I got a street name wrong .. correct on another one, and it was not picked up.

  4. Mint,

Pomme is probably correct, it can happen easily .. I ticked the wrong box in 7U .. first time.  This year I had to put in all the bank accounts again .. and before you start it asks you how many you need to put in ..so I did, and then I realised that I had forgotten some plus one that I had added last year wasn't there (the outside France AV in fact) so I found that out the hard way .. you can supprimer those you put in error, and add those you need to, but it is still a tedious way of doing it ..

  5. Mint,

I put in what details I had .. I do have papers for them all, but couldn't fill in all the fields .. I know, a most frustrating thing.  And if you make a mistake, and then need to go back and correct it, you have to scroll through every one (and between us we have 10 bank accounts, savings accounts and an AV outside France!).  Nor will it let you move on if you do not fill the fields they deem necessary.   Try putting gibberish in and see if that helps.  You can always correct it later ..

If your AV is held in France you do not need to put anything in, they are known to the authorities.  So only foreign  held bank/ savings accounts and foreign AV's.

  6. Yes, NormanH, I was in fact agreeing with you, but I knew you'd intended it for David. It was only when I re-read it more carefully that I realised where I too had gone wrong .. it's very well hidden and non-residents  and the "et" at first looks as though it is an additional descriptor for non-resident.  I understand entirely why David was confused by it, as I too was, even after all these years.

  7. Mint,

You express my feelings so entirely ... how long ago just doing normal things like a coffee with a neighbour ...seems. Though I suspect some people never stopped doing that .. which is why the cases are not going down as quickly as htey should be doing if everyone was behaving as the current rules say they should be doing.

Went to the nearest larger town yesterday, mainly to get his present and buy food I couldn't get locally for Sunday, and was amazed by the number of cars around (this is not the centre of the universe, you know!), and there was even a traffic jam along the rocade on the way home!!

  8. Mint, I cannot help with whether you will be able to take your delayed trip in June, who can?? but I can say that I have decided that we celebrate OH's  birthday this year (on Sunday) - last year, a big "0" for him we were due to go to Italy, cancelled of course .. but I have invited our 2 best friends round who live in the nearest big town, to celebrate .. plus our CdS arrivals plus my new passport (OH not due for some years yet!).  Fizz (blanquette, what else do you buy down here!) already purchased!

First time I have even felt like celebrating, or entertaining at home ... so we progress, and maybe on 19 May (or later as I am once again in Toulouse that day!), we shall actually get to eat in a resto again !!

Meanwhile, I won't say "enjoy" your PCR tests, but think about them as though they are getting you towards your goal (I hope!).

  9. Mint, I knew what you meant!  IN fact, if they are going to believe that the vaccines are the way forward , they are going to have to learn to trust the science, just heard on the radio news a few minutes ago, Israel has now determined that the Pfizer vaccine after 2 doses is 95% effective in stopping transmission and in getting the infection too .. so those adequately vaccinated are pretty unlikely to catch it, or transmit, even if they do go even to a country not well vaccinated yet (though why they shouldm yet, is an extirely different discussion).

Since most of those on here who've had their second dose are also still careful about where they go, the need for a PCR test should be less necessary ... but the powers that be cannot go in that direction yet because the statistics (and how the French love their statistics, true or not) won't let them do it.

  10. Thanks Mint,

What an absolute pain .. eventually we will surely not need them .. so for now the only answer is not to go anywhere that needs them .. if possible.  And when I think how many blood tests I am having they should surely be able to test from those ..

And good luck for the op ...

  11. My only PCR test, done by the nurses here, was before I'd had my jabs, and was not very nice, not quite not painful, but it made me cough!!  Other than that, Mint's reaction was not dissimilar to mine ..

I'd really like to know whether once vaccinated completely, one needs to take a PCR test as well .. such is the efficacy of the vaccines that we are told, PCR tests should surely not then be necessary.

  12. How to lie with statistics - again.  The Tous anti covid app this morning tells me that I have not been in contact with anyone .. not a surprise, the only person I saw yesterday was hubby, but also that in the whole of Occitanie (a huge area you will all understand which includes some rather large towns and cities) there were only 11 new ICU cases ... out of the how many 9000? in the whole of France .. if you believe that ..  !!!!!

  13. Well that wasn't difficult, I accept, but I am a quick and easy reader, having read and spelt well all my life .. but correct spelling is necessary sometimes, but on forums such as this, not always needed as long as the gist is gettable.  By the way, I'd hate to try to read that post if I had had too much to drink .. eyes don't always co-ordinate then ..and that is what is needed here.

We all scan read - I have been known to "read" some wordy novels simply by reading the first words of each paragraph, to decide whether to bother or not usually.  And not is usually the result.

I sympathise greatly with those who cannot spell well, even though it' somethign I can do, but when it comes to numbers, well I know my limitations .. and we all should accept that we are none of us perfect.

  14. I can be number dyslexic Idun, so I feel your pain.  Yes, it is not always understood or dealt with well, no matter which country you re in.

Happily I have always spelt well, but when I type, it is amazing how the fingers don't seem to follow the brain quite so well, another problem, but one I am used to now .. but there are several types of "ability" and not all are understood or allowed for .. even on this forum.

  15. Similar to Weegie, no reaction still from OH's first dose 48hrs ago, I had a slightly sore arm for 48 hrs the first time, less sore arm second time, plus a feeling of getting a headache, but I've got that today as well, it's raining, typical lower pressure reaction, boht Pfizer, all they do locally.

Media sources (from my former profession's [librarian, sort of!] point of view) take the reputable sources, ignore the rest.   And always reference your source.

I still maintain that any vaccine is better than not .. and that is from the scientific papers [which contrary to what I said above] I do have links for but cannot be bothered to go get and post.

  16. Pleased to report that hubby is reporting no side effects this morning .. so far! [Nor does he like that I am reporting this, he says it's private - he's just seen me posting this by looking over my shoulder - he does not approve of such "chat"!!].

Mint, GG, and Lori, thank you for your encouragement .. it is a great relief to know we are on the way and that his second is in 6 wks, as now accepted here.  He realised that if he did not have the jab he would not be able to travel (when we finally can again) which was the decider.

In the UK my nephews can now have the jab at 40+, here I still have older friends who cannot get an appointment, though most who are willing to travel to the larger cities can, but they are sometime well into the future ..

  17.
Don't you start Judith ;)

I wasn't always Betise (login problems forced re registration). I'm a little bit gamekeeper turned poacher.
Oh, I stay out of politics .. other than I think the differences between parties becomes less distinct the longer I hear the rubbish they all spout! but on the other you are quite right, we need both gamekeepers and poachers ..

  18. Well in our local centre slots are filled as soon as they are released .. within the day the last time I looked.

Happily I did't need to act as we had finally managed to get a slot for hubbyy (he had his first jab today as it happens! and has lived to tell the tale in spite of a fear of any medical procedure), when he had an email last week from sante.fr who I presume were chasing up the over 75' stragglers .. lots of slots then, and also the second slot booked, .. but none available to the general public in the centre until 3 days later, and those were the ones which went within the day.

    He's now watching snooker ...
