  1. I know exactly how u feel.  We have a house in Brittany and have put ours here in the UK on the market. As soon as it sells we are moving to our little french country retreat with our 3 children age 10, 7 and 3.  So although i feel it the best move for them i know it's going to break my heart watching them settle in,  but i suppose its going to get worse before better and they love it out in France, all that space and freedom, i've even bought a horse here to take with us when we go. Its a big and brave step and i keep telling myself it will be ok.  I've found alot of helpful and friendly people who live very near to where were moving so that should make it a bit easier. Good luck and keep in touch to let me know how your getting on,  we can exchange probably very similar notes! Cary
  2. Cheers guys.  Will have a good hard think about it.  Moving in a few months to our french house in Brittany so just wanted something to give us a bit of money and something to do! Cary
  3. these programs are very interesting to watch and i actually learn quite alot from them.  It actually makes me feel quite upset that i am going to put my children through the tears and upset of going to a new foreign school.  When i c some of the kids on these programs i feel sad for them and i am actually doing the same to my children in a few months.  I am doing it for a better life for my family so hopefully the heart-ache will be worth it.  Any advice 2 help my move easier will be great   Cary
  4. Is there a large demand for digger hire in Brittany.  Do many people renovate who want footings etc dug out.  Not sure how easy it is in Brittany to get a digger and driver for hire. Any comments greatly appreciated Thanks
  5. What sort of people relocating to France would you class as fools?  I have a family of 3 children and have had a house in Brittany since January.  We have now put our house on the market and are moving to France as soon as weve sold.  I've been learning the language for a year so although i'm not fluent i can just about get by and at least make the effort to speak the language of the country i will be living in.  Weve thought long and hard about this move and feel it will be a much more luxurious and free life for our children.  Are we fools?  If we don't try these things in life we'll never learn, will we? Any advice will be greatly appreciated as this is a very big and daunting move, although we have no doubts that it is definatley the right thing to do at this moment in time.
  6. Hi i'm looking for any families with youngish children nr Loudeac area.  I am going to be moving with my 3 children age 3, 7 and 10 in a couple of months and think the transition might be a little easier if i've been in touch with other families near by.  We are in a small village called plouguenast.  Hope to hear from someone.
