  1. Yes the point about frost stat is another consideration. FWIW I think I would have the need either way as both would have water circulation somehow. But your question has quite general vailidity I think.
  2. I have just spent two days in e-correspopndence with a chap who wanted to rent for three weeks but for me to effectively bank a cheque for him (i.e. return him the balance out of £3k).  As it happens he was from Nigeria. Strangely enough I had a similar thing last year.   I chose to explain that I may fall foul of the anti money laundering regulations were I do do as requested. He declined to proceed.
  3. Well we have only had our place for one winter, but we did get bookings. There is a hotel in our village that opens for the ski season and does transfers, but otherwise it is a 50min-1hr car journey to the slopes. We don't market it as most suited for the 'hit the slopes every day' die-hards. Ours is more particularly suited for the mixed groups as the village and the area has plenty to do (even in winter and even without transport).   However we do notice that that smaller studios in our area have longer rental seasons than the bigger places like ours (school holidays...?).   Good Luck
  4. I have read this thread with great interest. I already have a radiator system installed but need a new boiler in my holiday gite in the Pyrenees Orientales. I was going for oil (there is a tank already) but have been introduced to an alternative. The alternative is an electric boiler to feed the 7/8 radiators. It seems to run on off-peak electricity and claims to be efficient. I have not encountered these in the UK. However I am a bit wary as it may be something that is good for an 'always' on location (e.g. a ski chalet)  but hopelessly uneconomic for the odd autumn/spring 'quick burst' of heat. For instance it says that the boiler can also be a radiator - so it cannot be simultaneously storing the heat can it ? Does anybody have any experiences of these ? Thanks in advance.
