I accept the reservations about the beliefs behind it, but there remains a substantial cultural achievement based on hundreds of years of History.

In classical Banana (European variation) that means Mary Thunderclap! How unfortunate for the Germans.

In fact, if we put the French and German together in a spirit of European integration, we have something like 'Assuming One's Thunderclap' , which seems as good a reason as any for a holiday.
