Or if it had been shorter..... as it was I found it quite dreary, even allowing for the lack of sobriety ... . drunk people are not at all funny - ever. And you probably don't sound like Franck Sinatra, YOU just thinkyou do. Same problem with Lt Whatisistname - he had no idea how daft he sounded ..... hence my original comment.
