Jonzjob
My little Saus why would I wind any one up that represents Chelsiey in his avitar. Dick Smith
It's still dark (and I've found a lot more of the little clicky things next to doors) but outside there are lots of pretty flashy lights and loud bangy things in the sky. Should I be worried? Oh - and as I type a silvery car with blue lights on has just gone past making a lot of noise. They won't sell much ice-cream going at that speed. JayJay
It's light! 2° out & so bright with the moonlight, that you can read a newspaper. An absolutely beautiful & clear star speckled sky.[:D]
Cassis
You can read a newspaper here, too, Jay Jay. Lovely bright, crisp morning again. I wonder how long this is going to last?Mist is rising off the fields and the forest, sun streaming through, wonderful.
JayJay
Really Cassis, can you?[:)] Our 1st frost, wish we'd grown some parsnips now! A morning the same as yours, just wonderful to get up to.
Cassis
Yup, super day.Never been a big parsnip fan - are they like brussels (another of my less favourite veg), in that they need a bit of frost to flavour them?
Jonzjob
Het JJ if you had wanted to read a paper, or anything else for that matter, here at about 10.30 last night you would have had to go outside 'cause the dark got a lot darker. I have a feeling that Dick found a BIG clicky thingie and clicked the blasted thing!!! None of our clicky thingies worked in the house and the only light was the moon. Lovely though. We had to find a small clicky thing to light a larger parafin thing to make it not so dark again for about 45 minutes. Then the clicky thingies started to work again and you could read a paper indoors again.Blimey that was a long winded way of saying we had a bloody power cut!!! Jonzjob
Cass me awd Saus, bruxklez are nowt like parsnipz. They are a different shape for a start.Need I continue?I love both of them!! Yum, yum.
Cassis
I gather about 5 million Frenchies had power cuts last night across various parts. Plus a bunch of Begians, Spanish and Italians. All the fault of a German switching on an electric heater in Dusseldorf.
JayJay
That was a long way round John, it keeps the fingers warm though.[;-)]Cassis, both sprouts & parsnips apparently are always better after a frost. I never used to like snips, but love'em now, sprouts yeuk!
Cassis
The only 'veg' I ever ate as a child was chips, roast potatoes and peas. It wasn't till I was in my teens that I started eating 'real' vegetables!

Dick Smith
Is it true that in Scotland they keep back some of their chips each night to have cold in the moring? Apparently they call that 'salad'.
Cassis
Ah, the old ones are the best .... the chips, that is.
