Simply amazing concept and rather frightening

In contrast to the snivelling reduction of people to shuffling drones by government and 'elfnsafti', this project shows the extraordinary potential of the Island People and makes me feel a bit proud and very excited. Just to see it go will be quite something. The pilot will deserve more than a medal.

Takes me back to when I was an ankle-biter and had a cutaway picture of Bluebird CN7 on my bedroom wall (centre pages of the Eagle, what happened to the Eagle?).

Saw this at the recent Bath & West show, together with an absolutely inspired science fair for kids, fabulous, nothing like it in days of the Eagle, great though Dan was.[:)]

The project has been around for a while now, so it's nice to see that it is getting off the ground (not literally we hope).

The 'pilot' is most memorable in my mind for driving the diesel vehicle record holder - powered by two JCB engines modified to produce about 750 bhp each. I recently met a couple of the people who developed the engine, JCB wanted to keep as much of the production engine as possible so although many of the components were specially made, the basic engine is exactly the same as you will find in diggers and generators.

As a headline, JCB does 1000mph does not have too much of a ring to it, though, Will, does it? Still, it might set an example to all those that trundle along at 20 mph, though I expect they are just bunking off and using 'elfnsafti as an excuse.

Ah well,  rumblin' along in a  JCB . the engine rattles and holdin up the bypass but havin a top laugh [:)]
