Try giving them a call first, they are, or were, quite good. Explain what information you require and why, they will point you in the right direction. If so then yes, it usually refers to the total number of directorships that the person holds. Depending on the report service that you are using, if it is an online one then there may be the facility to search by director name and get the information that way.
