mint
they have promised us is visible all over Europe?Been out walking here and there, looking out for it but, would you believe it, after nights of cloudless skies, it's clouded all over.
Loiseau
Same here in London, mint! I have seen the moon every night this week -but today we have had thundery showers (most welcome for the garden) and the cloud cover has remained. Grrrrr.?
woolybanana
So, just a scifi fantasy to distract us from the real problem of the cult of Bobo rising to teach us all to think right, right, right, aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh
suein56
Yes .. here in southern Brittany we started peeking at 22h30 at the moon's ethereal presence .. it appeared cobwebby and pink .. but definitely not blood red. A fascinating sight, especially seen through binoculars. Now it is 1/4 illuminated .. and is beginning to resemble our usual moon .. so I am going to bed.Night all. mint
Hey, I've seen it, I've seen it!!! At least the partial eclipse.....just the last little black bit...And now, it's full disc again, I think, but hard to tell as there are clouds drifting across it and only momentary glimpses are possible. And, oh, how incredibly BEAUTIFUL it is! Judith
Cloudy here too, Mint, until it was all over ... and then we vaguely saw the usual coloured moon briefly though a haze of then thinning cloud. Covered this morning, too, but sun now breaking through, a little. Typical, cloudless every other night too here!
Jazzer
Amazing sight. Thought we were going to miss it, but suddenly the clouds disappeared, could see 3 stars and then the moon! incredible-different shades of intensity, lasted about a hour and then back to normal. One of those occasions when I am sorry not to have a decent camera.
Mac
Same here Jazzer in N. Dordogne . Saw it for longish periods between the clouds.
mint
And here it is, rising again tonight. Not the eclipse of course but still HUGE and orangey!
andyh4
As the Acrtrice said to the Bishop. Here the thunder storms rolled in just in time to obliterate any chance of a view - and we didn't even get any decent rain.
Patf
I didn't see it, too overcast. But it was obviously full moon, the middle of the lunar month when there's often a sudden change in the weather, which we had here . Why is this?
mint
Don't know about the sudden change in the weather, Pat, but I did go through a time when I felt it makes my insomnia worse. Now with the heat and everything else, I do rely on a little white pill for oblivion.
Noisette
And here it is again tonight....came up blood red and now climbing serenely to illuminate the frogs and cicadas while they do their nightly concert. Beautiful!
idun
We had far too many clouds to see anything at all.I have no idea how often these happen, but I do remember my first, in France in July 1982. Very memorable for many reasons, some perhaps best forgotten[:-))]Mars is very very visible at the moment.
mint
Id, apparently next one January of next year. But, after that, a few decades, I think[:-))]

idun
Coz I am old. And if it is a couple of decades, then I shall be really old, and probably not around to see it.
