nomoss
Did anyone watch the BBC version of "Far from the madding crowd" last night? Is it just me, or do remakes get worse and worse?Same goes for the awful version of "Watership Down", on the last two nights, with its strangely emaciated looking rabbits moving like crippled insects. Judith
I very often think that you cannot improve on the original, in spite of the many technological advances, and I am not sure that actors improve proportionally either!
YCCMB
Having seen neither the originals nor the remakes of either, I can't say.
NormanH
I was under the impression that it was a novel, hence immune to remakes though not necessarily to plagiarism.
idun
Well I can think of one where I love in the remake, but not recent....... that is the Thomas Crown Affair!I saw a little of Far from the Madding Crowd the other night, but nothing grabbed me, so I switched it off...... and I didn't fancy Watership Down. I read the book years and years ago and have 'my' vision of it all, don't need a cartoon. I would listen to a radio adaption of it though, if ever there is one.
