MrCanary
Yes, I know there are hundreds of restaurants in Paris...But I want a tried and tested one for next Saturday lunchtime (16/10). Not too expensive and somewhere central near the Seine would be good...

MrCanary
Thanks Norman...That looks very interesting and reasonably accessible from most parts of Paris...I Google street-walked it and saw that it is just a tiny place - hope the prices are similar! Paulhogan
HiWe have not been to central Paris since June 09 but we ate at Cafe Constant at 139,rue Saint Dominique, the food and atmosphere was excellent on a a very busy Saturday night. They do not take bookings so it is a bit of a gamble to get a table but worth the short wait at the bar.We thought the prices reasonable for the menu but everyone has there own version of reasonable. Why not check out Tripadvisor.com for Paris restaurants.Paul
Loirette
I can recommend La Fermette Marbeuf (www.fermettemarbeuf.com) They have set price meals as well as A La Carte. The interior is Art Nouveau and is amazing. If you go, ask to be seated in the conservatory part which is really lovely.
MrCanary
Well folks, thanks for your suggestions but we ended up at the Restaurant Chartier in Montmartre...Good food, perhaps not the best in Paris, but very good prices and a lot of fun with up to 300 diners eating at the same time and a queue outside waiting for empty tables!http://www.restaurant-chartier.com/
Cendrillon
" ...........................a lot of fun with up to 300 diners eating at the same time and a queue outside waiting for empty tables!"Always a good indication of a good restaurant IMHO[:)]
Barry70
Sounds like a good choice Mel. I may end up in Montmatre in the not too distant future. Good to know this one
NormanH
In fact this very touristic restaurant is in the Rue de Faubourg Montmartre in the 9ème near the Métro Grands Boulevards.I used to eat there in the 70s, but it has become the victim of every tourist book in town
