Carrefour Home Delivery

Recommended Posts

If anyone on here has used this, could you please give me some information, as there is a queue to get onto the site, and I don't want to waste time when I do get on there.

1)  Does it work like most on line shops, in that one can add items to a basket, save it, and return at a later date?

2)  Is there a minimum spend for home delivery?

3) Does one pay on line when ordering? If not, on delivery, and by what method?

3)  How far ahead can one order a delivery?

We have used Carrefour delivery many, many times.  However, I would say that now the system is not what it normally was.

We live in Paris, so the system is likely not the same as out lying areas.  However, this is what our current experience is:

Yes, you can put items in your pannier and come back to them later, but I think there is a limit on the time your pannier remains active (holding your selected items).

There is a minimum on how much you must spend to get a free delivery.  It seems to vary from region to region.  However, if you do not meet the minimum, the fee seems to hover around 9,90 euros.

Yes, you pay online once you've made the order.  They take carte bancaire.  I have never attempted to ask to pay in cash on delivery, so no idea if that is possible.  I've only ever used a french bank card.

Normally when you order online, there is a delivery creneau the next day.  Now, however, that deliver period is as late of one week later.  We have a delivery scheduled for this coming Saturday.  Under these extremely odd circumstances, we he no idea if our delivery will arrive or not.  We have already paid for it.  I expect a refund if it is not delivered.

Hope that helps.

many thanks, Lori.

I looked at the web site, after a short wait.

They won't deliver to our address, possibly because we have a Carrefour Market just up the road.

We want stuff delivered because we don't want to go in there. The car park is almost full, the shop is heaving with people, who are queueing between the outer and inner doors and swapping bodily exhalations.

They are not operating "Drive" from this Market, although there car parking spaces marked as such. Maybe the shop has opted out temporarily.

The nearest they can offer is in Carcassonne, 25 km from us, which we'll bear in mind.

Now trying Intermarché.

I don't know about your particular branch but in all the supermarkets in Béziers and Mirepoix it doesn't actually exist in our local branch.
Either you can go to the shop, make your selection then they will deliver; OR you can order online but then you have to go and collect, what is known as a 'drive'
You can go onto the national site of a supermarket and see which options are offered by your local shop.
You may be lucky and have one that does the full business of ordering and delivery but I haven't found one around here [:'(]

Be aware that at the moment they are very low on stock after the panic buying over the weekend so it might be better to wait a couple of days before trying

Thanks, Norman. Been doing more research.

Géant Casino has quite a good deal to subscribe for free delivery, but it isn't available to our address. Drive is available at all the grands surfaces in Carcassonne, but I don't want to drive that far.

Intermarché is only 6 km away, and has Drive. I have set up an account, but been waiting a long time to get their confirmation email. Checking Orange held mail every few minutes. Their help line is saturated.

Meanwhile I'll check Leclerc.

Bon courage, nomoss!  I think this might just be the survival instinct after the unexpectedness and shock of last night's announcement.  When people have filled their trolleys a couple of times, they will likely settle down to more routine practices.

In my area, I have noticed (after having had it pointed out by a check out person) that the shops are always quieter towards the end of the month because people have run out of money.  So, if you could hang on a week or so, the shops might well be quieter.

Thanks Mint.

We normally make a trip once each 4 - 6 weeks to Lidl and Aldi in Carcassonne for our main supplies, and about once a week to the Carrefour across the road for fresh milk, fruit and vegetables, depending on immediate needs.

Having bought plenty of fresh food last Wednesday, we weren't planning another shop until next week anyway, and hopefully you are right about shortage of money taking precedence over the squirrel instinct.

If necessary the one shop that does do home delivery from a online order in Béziers is Picard which handles frozen food. I sometimes use it for frozen veg such as cauliflower florets or broccoli, and for frozen fish, berry fruit etc

They only deliver in the town and immediate surroundings but when I was in the Ariège with the great distances between places I used

who deliver all over; my delivery came from the Carcassonne depot so I am sure you  would be covered too.

I realise this is not exactly what you need at the momet but it might be useful in the future

Thanks Norman. I've saved the site for future use, as we have a pretty good stock of frozen food at the moment.

Leclerc does not deliver.

All the big operators have a Drive system. Intermarché is by far the nearest to us, but I'm still awaiting an email to confirm my account there.

Fore fresh vegetables, there is a grocery shop nearby with open air stall outside, and a roadside stall about 5 km away on the main road, so I may have a look at those shortly.

I managed to open a "Drive" account with Super U, which is a little further away, but a shop we like, with no fuss about confirming emails etc.

I'll make an order to collect next week, to give them plenty of time to fill it.

Fingers crossed.
