Car towed away in Carcassonne..

Has anyone else had their car towed away under the 'over 7 days' rule ?

In the past I've left mine in a residential street for around a month

at a time with no problems, but now came back to find it has been

removed accumulating over a month's storage fees!

480 Euro for the official airport car park is pretty steep - but in

this context perhaps good value .. Nightmare. Anyone have any

experiences?

Did you leave it near the airport. There are a lot of cars parked there now and if I was the owner of the VW garage I would be very very annoyed. I think anyone who leaves a car there is pretty stupid when you can park in the secure airport parking for a reasonable(for airport parking)sum. Anyway I think I will write to the Maire and try to get the clamping  concession.

Fair comment, although I was parked half way between the Airport and

the Town Centre, a bus journey away and in a residential area with

ample parking... Parking right outside the Airport is fine for maybe

4-5 days, but no more..

What is the actual law regards the 7 day rule ?

Its not you that leaves your car for a month at a time, outside my house in a residential area, a bus ride away from Gatwick Airport, is it?

I wish that the British Police had similar powers!
