johnycarper Posted November 23, 2007 Share Posted November 23, 2007 Has anyone experianced problems with the house they brought in france after the sale had gone through,as we are experiancing problems a year after.We have found faults in the heating but the biggest problem was the fosse septic not being connected and just going into the field,it would not have shown on survey as it seemed to be working when we moved in.we have had a letter sent by the notaire to the previous owners but have not had a response yet,anyone any help or advice.many thanks. Gluestick Posted November 23, 2007 Share Posted November 23, 2007 If critical faults in the construction of the house were known to the seller and they concealed these and they were not immediately obvious to the buyer, then indeed you can take action for remedy and costs.However, be aware that the legal process in France is long and expensive.Take professional advice from suitably qualified bi-lingual Franch lawyers.You may well find that simply the threat of costly legal action may well encourage the vendor to treat with you in order to find a financial compromise.
