NuBeginnings
Hi all,In my hunt for a new micro tractor I have found a bargain but its you guessed it in Ireland, near londonderry.Trying to work out if its viable to ship i.e costs etc.Tractor is €5000 less than in France so its worth the hassle. Any suggestions any experience with heavy haulage firms from Ireland to France ? Would even fit in a removal van as its not that big honest. PaulT
At 5,000 euros saving you could perhaps hire a van and collect it yourself. However, what happens if something goes wrong with it and you need to get it back to Ireland?Paul
dave21478
Get some quotes from www.shiply.com but I would suggest fetching it yourself if at all possible.

NickP
Ask RyanAir if they do Freight? [:D]
Pierre ZFP
Its many years since I had contacts in the freight industry but the magic word you want to Google for is 'Groupage' . In case you hadn't come across this term, it's when there are many consignments for various folk all on one truck. You pay by volume rather than wieght and it can work out quite reasonable if you are prepared to go to the depot local to you for the final leg. There are many trucks going empty back to Europe from the UK so rates are usually pretty good for this direction. Russethouse
If you go yourself you could go Roscoff to Cork, or Cherboug to Rosslare....
NuBeginnings
Nick P bah humbugWas looking at the drive, but its about a 1000 miles each way. As where I want to get to is near Londonderry so I would rather let someone else do the driving. Have been looking at car haulage firms and plant haulage. Russethouse
Have you bought it from a company ? If not why not offer the seller a few days R&R if they deliver it ?
NuBeginnings
Russ, have tried that, his wife would love to come but they run a B&B amongst other things and have no time ;-( sadly, as that would have been a great solution.
