Anton Redman
Great book - read the first 20 pages in a Bordeaux Book Shop -- before deciding to pay for it --- just as I was arrested for trying to translate shoplifting.Thought there was a thread here about it ?? ? mrsmop
I onced got chased down the street for reading (for maybe 20-30 seconds) an english newspaper in france without paying for it, he caught up with me and demanded to know why I was stealing from him. ( of course - I'd already put the newspaper back before I left the shop). If you touch it you have to pay for it (for some sellers, not all - of course). Cjb
This seems to be similar to another book "Sky, my husband" - "Ciel, mon mari" which looks at the bizarre outcomes one encounters when literally translating between the two languages.
Christine Animal
Looks like an easy way to make money to me. I never understood the success of that Sky My Husband. [6]
