Doodle
Hi, can you someone tell what the correct phrase would be for asking the lady on the till at the supermarket to take off the bill the money I have collected over several months on my lerclerc card. One lady did say to me 'enlever' but when I tried this at a later date I got one of those looks that meant I'd said it wrong or said it in a terrible accent! Thanks, Chris
Clair
I usually ask her to check : "Vous pouvez vérifier s'il y a quelque chose sur ma carte, s'il vous plait?"She tells me there is €5.30 (for example) and I say "Vous pouvez les déduire (= les enlever = les retirer)?" JohnRoss
I just say when she hands the loyalty card back having done whatever she does: "C'est combien s'il vous plait?" She tells me and I say "Enlever s'il vous plait" Always works for me ...........................JR

Frenchie
Mais moi j'ai plus de mérite, parce qu'ils doivent penser que je suis anglaise vu que j'ai un super beau sac TESCO, avec " The big green bag" écrit dessus !!Et toc !!! [:P]
woolybanana
If you have a Super U one you can give the points to charity and the shop will match them. They are turned into credit which buys and installs water purifying systems etc in Africa. The charities are bona fide and do the work themselves. Ask at the caisse. I just remember filling out a form, no ID required. It was very simple and I have gotten quite a few benefits from having them.
