wood burner parts

Does anyone know the french name for the metal "ceiling" above the burning part of a stove?

Ours has buckled and needs replacing. It's lined with asbestos.

We also need a new grate, which I found out is a plaque (not a grille) but I can't find the french word for the ceiling. In english it's a "baffle".

We've lost the manual for the stove, so can't look there.

Isn't it called a deflecteur?

Why has it buckled, I realise that fires get very hot, but I would have been shocked if ours had buckled and wondered at the quality of it. Our Turbo Fonte never buckled and we had it for 25 years, and that was with my bright sparks of neighbours (one a plumber!!!) trying to break it, by over heating it....... too long a story to tell... but quite frightening at the time!

idun you are right [:D]

We went to the shop today and that's what the man called it.

Anyway husband has taken over the search for parts now (I hope, fingers crossed.) Turns out the stove is old and the exact parts no longer exist, so he's searching for alternatives.
