Cassis
Most seem to open as normal between Xmas and New Year's Day but close on New Year's Day. Our bakery is open in the morning on Xmas Day.
Lori
Same here in our neck of the woods. Open half the day on Xmas and half the day on New Year's Day. Rest of the week runs as normal most places.

TWINKLE
The Chamber of Commerce seems to have authorised the 24th & 31st December (all Sundays) in most regions - some will even be open on the 17th.
Benjamin
Ouest France newspaper reports that the maire of La Roche sur Yon, Pierre Regnault, has authorised the opening of shops in the departmental capital on 17th December but has refused to allow opening on 24th.This decision has infuriated shopkeepers since other local towns will allow opening on 24th December. M Regnault says that shop employees should be free to enjoy Christmas, including Christmas eve, with their families. So there you have it; your local town hall will have the definitive answer.
