zeb
At long last we are planning our house warming party (now that the renovations are all but finished) for the last Saturday of October. We're inviting folks from about 7.30 onwards and plan a hot and cold buffet. As around half the friends invited will be French do you think they'll be happy to forgo their evening meal for buffet style food as I can't do a sitdown for 40+? Cat
Huh, and I thought the posting meant you were going to invite all of us!!![:(]
Doh, that's what I thought too [:)]When you invite them tell them it'll be a buffet dînatoire, that way they'll know to expect more than the standard pre-dinner nibbles. le val charente
We were invited to a "meshwi"(sp??) last weekend, a lamb on a spit roasted over a fire....there were about 40 people there (all French). They seemed happy to eat in shifts!!

Missy
>>>We were invited to a "meshwi"(sp??) <<<méchoui as the French would spell it but since it is a word of arab/North african origin your spelling is probably not far wrong.
SaligoBay
Is nobody going to complain about the bad influence all these foreigners are having on la belle France? You're all slacking!
