newbiee
cous cous. Semolina was in exactly the same sacks as, and right next to, the cous cous! I might hydrate it and see if I can palm it off on the dogs .. I don't want to start making loads of sugary cakes and biscuits - I don't think I can find a use for it. Thanks Clair [:D]
Clair
Some couscous brands are labelled "semoule de couscous"...

lorna
I think that semolina can be used in soup, try googling semolina soup (or vice versa).
Suze01
Sprinkle it on par boiled roast potatoes before going in the oven to roast for extra crispy roasties.Use a couple of tablespoons in your pizza dough mix (if you make your own as I do). odile
If I were you, I would take it back to where I bought it, with a big smile, and explain my mistake - you never know they might take pity on you! Soggy semolina, nope!
mint
I know you've said you don't want to make too many sugary snacks and things. But, if you want to make shortbread, perhaps as presents to give at Christmas, semolina mixed with the flour produces a fantastic shortbread that is really crumbly and yum-yum. Cendrillon
Make a fruit tarte and sprinkle the semolina on the pastry base before putting the fruit in and baking. It helps to soak up the juice and stops the pastry going soggy.

We listened to the album again this evening. I think that it's a very cleaver trick of Clair's to get us to intergrate into the French way of life! We have got to be very carefull here or we may even be speaking French peut etra! Pas pour moi?

Don't set me off, Frenchie, or I will have a real madeleine moment and will take pages telling you all about semolina and tapioca and sago puddings right back to childhood days and, not only will you be bored stiff, you will wish you'd never brought about my madeleine moment![:D]
