One reason being that years ago I had my oven on timed and the thermostat went and went up to oven cleaning temperature. We were very lucky that the le crueset caste iron saved the ragout. So dare I today. A sunny day and I want to go out, but I have guests for dinner and would rather like to start cooking in an hour, and if I go out now, will probably be back in two to three hours, rather too late to put my pot roast on for tonight. And I won't take the risk, and will stay in. I am wondering how my insurance would judge this if the house burnt down, me leaving the oven to come on all on it's own. Any ideas.
