Bugsy
Simon has kindly worked out some Tour Routes for us.Using the green (scenic) Michelin map; Tour 1 – Leave Murat, on the D3, join the D680 and head past the Puy Mary, Cirque du Falgoux, Col de Neronne; and arrive in Salers (lunch with Nomad, and his group) Take the D22 to Pons, then D678 to Riom es Montagnes, then D3, D62 through the Vallee de Cheylade – then back to Murat. I reckon that’s about 120kms Tour 2 – Murat, D3, D16 to Condat. D678,978 to Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise. Then D36 to Mont Dore; D 645 to La Tour-d'Auvergne, D203, D978 etc….Murat. All scenic route, but 170 kms definitely a ‘full days touring!! Tour 3 - just south of us are the Gorges de la Truyere, which I have a nice looking ‘loop’ tour. If anyone on this forum knows the area we're visiting and has any other suggestions please let me know.Lets just hope that the weather holds. [:)]. yorkie
Hi,Unfortunately, we will not now be able to join you all for this trip. The wife had already booked us for a spot of animal husbandry while our neighbours are away and forgot to put it on the caledar. Am regretting her decision already.[:(]
Bugsy
Not to worry Yorkie, maybe next time.Keep an eye on this thread though as the dates are weather dependant. (No-one wants to spend four days camping in the rain).
