Berlioz
I have checked out the local 'Tissus a metre' shops but they do not seem to have a very large range. Does anyone know of/ordered from an on-line store that is either French or delivers to France? Merci,B
Clair
Try searching for "tissus en ligne" or "tissus au mètre".See here for example: http://www.tissuspassion.com/boutique/liste_produits.cfm?type=1&code_lg=lg_fr
Callie
I have just found a BRILLIANT website that does mail order provençale fabrics :www.fayence-tissu.comWONDERFUL collection of fabrics and accessories. Fabrics that I looked at were around 10 to 11€ a metre/150cm wide.
Cendrillon
Thanks for both the websites I am going to bookmark these. Callie I especially liked the one for the provençale fabrics, wide width fabric and very reasonable.
Callie
Cendrillion, it was thanks to your query that I did a search and just stumbled on their website. I wouldn't have thought of looking on line - I know where I'm going to get my fabric now!
Cendrillon
Callie, I wasn't the OP who asked the question but never mind[:)] Re. Provençale fabric: I would be interested to know what the of "weight" is like, so if you do buy some please let me know. In the past I have bought provençale fabric in the marche St Pierre in Paris. I used it to make a quilt, it was very cheap but was definitely furnishing weight and a heavy fabric to sew. It was fine for a machine pieced and machine quilted item but no good for hand quilting. Callie
Ooops, sorry Berlioz.....and Cendrillon....I would be surprised if the fabric was as fine as quilting fabric - but I will certainly let you know, Cendrillon.I wonder if they would send samples for colour etc?
