French "Fabric World"

Hi there, I've got a couple of chairs that need upholstering .. does anyone know if there is an equivalent of the shop "Fabric World" in France. The chairs aren't anything special so don't want to spend a fortune on fabric.

Steph, where are you?   If you go to the yellow pages http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/ and search for tissus with your dept number, you should find quite a few.

There are a few around Montpellier, but I don't know if they're chains or just independent stores, because it's not the kind of thing I look for when I'm travelling elsewhere!  The three big ones are:

Mondial Tissus

Quartier des Tissus

Toto.

You could also try your local markets.  Probably not my first choice for upholstery, but you never know!

Thanks Toto, I'm in Pays de Loire so nowhere near you .. but will have a search .. My Dad gave me a couple of old wing back chairs that he was going to throw away .. our living room is nearly ready and we don't have any furniture, probably wont be very good at the upholstery but who knows!

Saligo Bay has ben called some things, but Toto, that's new...  

I have always loved Madura, but looking at their site, it seems they only have shops in Paris, I thought I'd see them elsewhere

My mistake, when you click on France, Paris comes up, but then under the towns drop down they are everywhere

oops, realised after I had posted that it's not Toto .. sorry Saligo Bay, need to pay more attention .. ! Looks like I've got some biggish tissu suppliers close to me so thanks for all your help.
