woolybanana
Well, we now have a new collective 'a drove of Frenchmen', defined as a group of people who have been forced to flee socialist stupidity. Alternatively, a drove could be a new form of transport!

Chiefluvvie
Well said wooly! If I could get away with not spending one cent more in this country before I leave I'd be over the moon!!Enough of my hard earned cash has been squandered by socialists over my lifetime - enough is enough.....and as for why anyone would want to become a French Citizen beats me!Chiefluvvie
HoneySuckleDreams
I think this ties in with Hollande's trip to the Meghreb regions. It strikes me as being similar to the Bliar/Brown gerrymandering, by making it easy for people to come to the country and, being ever so thankfull, vote for you in the next election. The socialists seem to be following the Labour lead. Time will tell to see if enough people arrive in time to vote Hollande in for a second term before the money runs out. NormanH
why anyone would want to become a French Citizen beats me!I am thinking about taking dual nationality (again).Last time I was discouraged by the administrative difficulties and the discourtesy at our sous préfecture, where I had a battle for my first Carte de Séjour , but the new sense of social justice under this government, in such vivid contrast to that in the UK , encourages me to be a full part of the country which has looked after me so well.Don't forget that the situation in France has been brought about by many years of misrule by the right (since 1995) which Hollande can't undo in a few months. He has made a start http://www.gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=538328&version=1&template_id=48&parent_id=
woolybanana
Norman, go and have a little lie down and think again. You will see how silly you are being. Besides, why should France want you?
woolybanana
Normie, you have been asleep far too long for your own good. It is ok, I didn't mean it, you can stop sulking now. Think of the begging time you are missing.

[/quote]Very few countries try to tax their citizens regardless of where they are resident, because it makes for so many complications and raises so very little extra tax revenue.I always thought it ironic that the two main countries that do so are the USA and China.
