Be careful if you let people stay in your absence

That is seriously scarey; though I don't understand why nothing can be done. The article says the couple are paying all the bills for their unwanted squatters ... surely there should be some way to do something about that, if nothing else for the time being.

I have a feeling that they are obliged to pay their bills too, I don't think that they can cancel any of them.

This is madness isn't it, in any country it would be. I don't know what I would do, but I would think of something.

Isn't there a law that you can't evict in the winter months? Depends on the age of the occupier too.

Tenants in France have a much stronger position than in UK.

Sounds as if they had a written agreement but it wasn't worth the paper it was written on.
