NormanH
When I lived in the UK I had a ready-made First Aid Kit from Boots that I kept in the bathroom. It could also be taken in the car, and was just for personal use. (I am aware of the issues surrounding giving medication to others) It was in a well-organised red plastic box with a clear white cross on it, and contained assorted plasters, bandages, scissors, antiseptic ointment, an eye bath etc.I have never found an equivalent in France, perhaps because Pharmacies aren't chain stores.I believe it would be called a 'Trousse médicale '.I could try to make one up by buying the individual components , but:1) I am sure I would forget something vital2) The ready-prepared one was very good value as well being well thought-out, and neatly arranged.Has anybody come across anything similar in France, and if not has anyone any advice/links to offer on what a home-made one should contain? Cat
There's a pretty good interactive list here for a basic kit...http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/first_aid/what_is_first_aid/firstaidkit_index.shtml
Clair
You'll find more info if you google "trousse de secours" on Google.fr.I bought mine from Lidl a couple of years ago. They contain all the basics. I have one in the car and another in the gite.
Kitty
No paracetemol allowed in them these days, which is a shame. What happened to the age of personal responsibility? Why do governments have to dictate what we keep in them?
