nectarine
Friends are running into difficulties with obtaining this form - it entitles you to health care in another EU state but which is funded by your country of residence (in this case, Franc). In a nutshell, a friend has to have remedial work done in the UK from an operation she'd had there some years ago - no, it can't be done in France since the surgeon is a specialist in this type. But she needs this S2 form from CPAM and they are refusing to issue it, despite her providing medical notes and letters from doctors. All very urgent, but has anybody ever successfully obtained an S2 before? If so, how?
idun
Yes, I have. I had minor surgery just before a trip back to the UK and I called the CPAM and they sent me a form so that I could get follow up treatment in the UK whilst I was there. Wasn't an S2 though, but one of the E forms at the time. They must be able to appeal against this decision.
nectarine
Thanks, yes it used to be an E112. Apparently if she'd obtained it and attached it to her documents when joining the French health service then it would automatically be issued. However, hindsight is a great thing. Not sure whether it is a policy decision or the hard-faced impatient 'fonctionnaire' who was keen to close the office for an impromptu half day (and who almost threw them out!) NormanH
Quite possibly the latter. If I don't get the answer I want I try a again at a different time hoping to see a different person.

[/quote]Totally agree, the woman they saw sounds as though she had her own agenda so persuade them to try again. But if that fails too then you do have legal recourse through CPAM's own complaints system.http://www.ameli.fr/assures/droits-et-demarches/reclamations-et-voies-de-recours/comment-contester-une-decision/les-differentes-voies-de-recours.phpSue
nectarine
Thanks for all answers, it's now getting quite complicated but my friend's doctor will be contacting CPAM to press the case that the remedial operation has to be carried out in the UK.Thank you for all your advice and comments which are much appreciated.
