Frank
Hi all, don't know if this is where to post, but here goes. I have heard or read somewhere that partners can 'piggy-back' onto the carte vital of their partner for medical cover. If all goes to plan, I will be closing my micro bic in the none to distant future and will no longer be paying into the RSI so I am putting feelers out for info/planning. Does anyone know of the poceedure please, or if anyone can point me in the general direction for info it would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance
idun
If you are living with your girlfriend or boyfriend and are not Pacsd, then I don't know how this would work???? Ask the CPAM.Concubinage in France does not allow access to quite a lot of things.
Patf
I think it depends how your partner gets his/her medical cover. And perhaps whether you're married or pac'sd etc.The only way I know for sure is if you're married and your conjoint has cover via an S1 from the UK. Frank
Hi all, many thanks for the replies so far. Just to clarify, we are married, French residents and my partner works for a French company so fully 'in the system' Will have a look at cpam site to see what they say, thanks again
Debra
If you don't have any other way of being entitled to cover then you need to apply to become an 'ayant droit' under the charge of your wife (and yes, concubins can also be ayant droit) - it's all here: http://www.ameli.fr/assures/droits-et-demarches/par-situation-professionnelle/vous-etes-sans-emploi/vous-etes-a-la-charge-d-8217-un-assure/etre-ayant-droit.php and I think this is the form you need: http://www.ameli.fr/fileadmin/user_upload/formulaires/S3182.pdf

idun
If you had said you were married, then you would have got the reply immediately, all would have been clear. And this should be rather easy to do. Make sure that you know exactly what paper work your CPAM wants. And get your spouse to add you to their mutualist too, especially if they have one via work, once you are in the CPAM.
