PossumGirl
Well, BUMMER!!! It looks as if Grisoft is no longer offering its AVG anit-virus program for free. A friend just got an email announcing that he would have to upgrade to the paying version come January. I have not received anything like that, but the free version is not listed on the Grisoft website.PG
Will
I haven't received anything either, and it looks as if it is still available from http://free.grisoft.com/doc/
jamesg
If this really happens, you could change to this one:http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.htmlNot much to choose between them.Maybe the new Comodo free anti virus will be better when the final version is ready and well tested, their free firewall is excellent and runs without problems unlike some others I have tried. JayJay
[8-)]That's odd, because 2 days ago it asked me to update to version 7.5. As from January the other version will be discontinued.
PossumGirl
Yep. You're all correct. The person who told me this had probably gotten the upgrade notice and misunderstood, and I couldn't find the proper link on their website.Sorry about that.PG
Baz
Thanks for the information, just updated AVG 7.1 to 7.5 version. I found that 7.1 daily check was taking around 35minutes, it will be interesting to see whether tomorrows 7.5 version run is faster. When I first installed AVG a few years ago it was completed in 20 minutes.Baz
Thibault
Have just installed the new upgrade. So far, it seems faster and more efficient.[:)]
