Keep loosing Microsoft Photo Editor

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Have you changed your Microsoft Office to 2003 or above?, if so photo editor has been replaced.  See the link below:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HP011454871033.aspx

It has been replace by Microsoft Picture Manager which isn't as good in my opinion.  However the best free photo editing software is IrfanView which is available to download from the following link:

Hi,

You probably have a corrupted programme,  re-install Photo Editor from your windows office xp CD using the instructions below:

    1. Insert the Microsoft Office XP CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
    2. If the Office XP Setup program does not start automatically, follow these steps:
    3. Click Start, and then click Run.

    4. In the Open box, type drive:\Setup.exe, where drive is the letter of your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.

    1. Start to step through the setup process, and then select Customize for the type of setup to perform.

    2. When you reach the Selecting Features step, set each node of the setup tree to Not Available.

    3. Under Features to install, expand Office Tools.

    4. Click Microsoft Photo Editor, and then click Run from My Computer.

    5. Click Install Now.

    6. Click OK when Office XP Setup has completed successfully.

    Best of Luck

After you have re-installed it, make sure that it is set as the default photo editor (if it's always the tool you use to edit photos).

To do this, right click on a photo file, select "open with", and then select photo editor from the list provided.  If it isn't in the list, select "choose program" and then photo editor.  Click in the "always use the selected program to open this kind of file"box.
