tel
Hi,Have you changed your Microsoft Office to 2003 or above?, if so photo editor has been replaced. See the link below:http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HP011454871033.aspxIt has been replace by Microsoft Picture Manager which isn't as good in my opinion. However the best free photo editing software is IrfanView which is available to download from the following link:http://www.download.com/IrfanView/3000-2192_4-10755180.html?tag=lst-0-5 Best of Luck

Cat
How are you trying to open it? By double clicking on a photo file, right clicking a photo file and selecting "open with..." or by double clicking the photo editor icon?
tel
Hi,You probably have a corrupted programme, re-install Photo Editor from your windows office xp CD using the instructions below:Insert the Microsoft Office XP CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. If the Office XP Setup program does not start automatically, follow these steps:Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type drive:\Setup.exe, where drive is the letter of your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. Start to step through the setup process, and then select Customize for the type of setup to perform. When you reach the Selecting Features step, set each node of the setup tree to Not Available. Under Features to install, expand Office Tools. Click Microsoft Photo Editor, and then click Run from My Computer. Click Install Now. Click OK when Office XP Setup has completed successfully.Best of Luck
tenniswitch
Thanks for posting that, Tel. I've also been having problems with photo files lately. Maybe I need to reinstall my Picture Manager.Unfortunately I don't have the CD-ROM in France, but will try it when I return to the US.

Cat
After you have re-installed it, make sure that it is set as the default photo editor (if it's always the tool you use to edit photos). To do this, right click on a photo file, select "open with", and then select photo editor from the list provided. If it isn't in the list, select "choose program" and then photo editor. Click in the "always use the selected program to open this kind of file"box. Russethouse
It's the system I prefer as its the first one I came across and I'm used to it, I dare say the Adhobe systems are better but I'm not so comfortable with them.
ChezShells
Maybe running a registry fixer could help, should be plenty available online for trial or freebie.
