Barbel Bob
Hi,When we moved into our house the previous English owners has left us their phone, this worked fine.....we have now finally got around to unpacking our phone but it does not work, there is no tone at all....we have three of the same phones that all worked well in England when we left...they have not been damaged, is this something simple that we are missing? We are using France Telecom and livebox.ThanksJ

If the former, try plugging the lead into one of your UK phones and see if that helps.p

tel
Can you advise were I may get one from...I am in the uk for Christmas.ThanksJ
Hi J,I fitted a BT Master socket by wiring it to my FT socket with a short length of telephone cable, the instructions were printed on the Master socket package. The links below are for the items from Maplins but any good electrical shop should be able to supply you with the items.http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=897&criteria=bt%20master%20socket&doy=16m12http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1286&&source=14&doy=16m12http://www.maplin.co.uk/search.aspx?MenuNo=12568&MenuName=Telephone+Cables&worldid=-10&FromMenu=y&doy=16m12 Regards

Deimos
I moved here with a couple of phone from the UK (as I already had them). One worked fine in all regards except it just would not ring. Others seem fine. Some do, some don't. I cannot explain why but it seems others report similar things (partial working, everything fine, not working at all).Ian
