Convert numbers into words

This may be of interest to those who have Microsoft Word

installed on their computer and want to convert numbers into words easily, very

useful for writing French numbers if you have the French dictionary installed.

 

Open a new document and change the language if required.

Press Ctrl+F9 then in the field that opens up; enter " = " then

the number you want to convert, then "\*cardtext" without the quotes. then  press F9

 

Example: {=123456\*cardtext} then press F9 with the cursor

still in the field

 

Result: (English) one hundred-twenty three thousand four hundred  fifty-six

Result: (French) cent vingt-trois mille quatre cent cinquante- six

That is realy useful especially when writing cheques.  Thank you.

Which French dictionary are you talking about ?

I have the one from the Office disk (proofing tools) but your trick isn't working for me.

Also which version of Word do you use, I have 2002 (also known as Office XP). I also have a genuine copy of Office 2007 but have yet to find a compelling reason to install it [blink]
