judih
I have taken my old laptop to France and want to get internet access, however only for the month of August each year so do not want to pay huge charges for broadband. Does anyone know if a "dongle" will work up in the mountains? and how much will it cost for roaming access?Judi
Alex H
If a mobile phone works, then it should work. Sorry, don't know anything about costs.
Chezstevens
I have used one in Italy. You need to ensure that you have a strong 3G mobile signal - just a mobile lock won't do. I now wait to be corrected.
Albert the InfoGipsy
If, by 'roaming access' you mean using a UK dongle in France the cost is usually prohibitive for much more than minimal use. Unless rates have improved dramatically in the last few months you get charged pounds per megabyte of download. Try looking at the web sites for the main phone suppliers. As far as French providers are concerned I don't know of one that does a Pay as You Go internet dongle at a sensible price, but I haven't looked recently.
