Quillan
How are you connecting it to your TV, via the arial socket or one of those big connectors round the back?
Mr Coeur de Lion
Have you connected it to a black & white telly? Are you sure you have selected the correct input channel? ie flick through your AV channels, sounds like you're on the wrong one. sueyh
Hello yes it is a colour telly!! It is a HD ready Toshiba 32 in LCD. We've checked the connection about five times. Wii will be winging its way out of the window shortly!!

Bugsy
You have black and white, I've got nothing [:D]I'll try againThe Wii has to be connected using the RCA cableThe Yellow lead is the composite video, the Red and White are the stereo.Do you have then in the correct sockets?. Quillan
You also get a SCART adapter, you plug the three plugs in to the SCART plug and then plug that in to the TV.The reason I asked if the OP was plugging it in to the TV aerial socket is because the Wii only comes with PAL RF output, not SECAM and if you were connecting it this way and it was a French TV running in Terrestrial mode i.e. an aerial attached for French TV then the effect would be very similar to what the OP is experiencing.Once you have it running and if you have WiFi in the house you can get it to connect to the internet (it uses the Opera browser) and it will automatically download the latest operating system and install it.
